FREE EVENT -- Field Trip to RISE Library with SCTA Nov 13

Chico State SCTA wants to invite you all to join us today NOV 13, 2012 for our first field trip to the RISE library.RISE ( Resources for International Studies in Education) is a curriculum support program designed to improve international studies and multicultural education in Northeastern California schools. So if your currently working with students or are planning to be in a field with students come check out this resource that's available to you. It will be a useful tool to have under your belt.

LOCATION:The RISE Library is now located in Aymer J. Hamilton 124, which is behind the Bidwell Mansion and next to Modoc Hall.

We will all get a tour of the library and get to do a fun craft. So come have fun with us!!!

Featured in the library are 3,000 children's literature books, including versions of the Cinderella story in Korean, African, Cambodian, Egyptian, and Native American settings. Also on display are fascinating artifacts, maps, games, and instruments

RISE provides support to students, teacher candidates and classroom teachers in the forms of standards-aligned curriculum materials, including books, thematic units, audio-visual materials, costumes and artifacts. Director of the RISE Library, Maureen Fredrickson, also conducts tours and workshops on artifact-based lessons by appointment.
