The CSU, Chico Interdisciplinary Center on Aging presents: The “Scoop” on Social Security and the Affordable Care Act

 

Presented by: Bryan Kay, District Manager, Chico Social Security Office and Arlene Hostetter, Assistant Director, Butte County Department of Employment and Social Services.

 

This workshop will provide information on Social Security and the Affordable Care Act at an entry level, with an emphasis on common misconceptions and how to navigate these systems successfully. The target audience for this workshop is pre-retirement individuals. At this workshop participants will be able to identify three ways to get their health care coverage needs met. Participants will learn the difference between Medicare and Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Participants will also learn the truth about three myths of Social Security and the Affordable Care Act Expanded Medical.

 

This event will take place on Wednesday, May 7 from 9:00am to 11:00am. This is a FREE event and everyone is welcome to attend. Come and join us in Colusa 100A.
