Anthropology is a broad and exciting field of study. The word "anthropology" is derived from the Greek root words of anthropos (man) and logos (study of), combined to mean the study of humans. Anthropologists in America study humans in three different manners:

1. Humans as biological organisms - Physical Anthropology

2. Humans through their main adaptation to the environment - Cultural Anthropology

3. Humans and their cultures throughout time - Archaeology

Many Anthropologists work as professionals in one of the above fields, or a combination of them. For more information on what careers are available for those interested in Anthropology, please visit Careers in Anthropology. If you are interested in what type of classes that Anthropology majors take when they attend Chico State please visit the Course Information Page.

In the future, we hope to be able to provide a fun and interactive site which will introduce cultures from all over the world.
