Ethnographic Lab

Welcome to the Department of Anthropology's Ethnographic Laboratory, located in Butte 305 and is available for the use of all anthropology students. The lab is maintained by Anthropology students, coordinated by the student-run Chico Anthropology Society. Occasionall the lab may not be open when it is used as a classroom, a schedule is posted on the door each semester. We hope you will be patient, and also consider volunteering to help maintain the lab at hours convenient for students.

 

Available in the Lab:

  • Computer workstations with internet connectivity
  • Scanner and laser printer (modest charge per page for printing)
  • DVD/VHS payback unit, DVR, and projection unit. Television/VCR with headphones for screening videos
  • A modest library of anthropology videos, books, journals, and reference sources.
  • Maps of world regions

    COMMING SOON Major upgrads to Ethnographic Lab will include:

  • New computer monitors
  • New Laserjet printer
  • New Xerox Documante 510 Scanner
  • New VHS with tracking for projection and recording
  • New DVD player for projections and playback
  • New Panasonic digital video recorder (for VHS tape transer, video braodcast capture and video editing)
  • New television monitor for screening VHS and DVD media
  • New powered sound system to complete video projection capacity
  • New visual editing and production software for workstations
