Guide to El Cajón Data Files

All files listed below are in Arc View 3.2 format, either as shape files or grid files in the Arc View Project entitled: elcajonfinalvegmaps.apr

 

The Project contains the following files

In the View “Vegmaps81s94” are found:

  • veg81lost3_03.shp: A shape file of vegetation lost when then the El Cajón dam reservoir was created.
  • Veg19813_03.shp: A shape file of vegetation cover in the El Cajón study area before flooding.
  • Veg19943_03.shp: A shape file of vegetation cover in the unflooded portion of the El Cajón study area in 1994, ten years after the creation of the dam reservoir.
  • 9194ovrsimple3_03.shp: A shape file of vegetation change in the unflooded portion of the study area, comparing the vegetation cover of 1981 with that of 1984.  This map was generated by overlaying rasterized gird files of Veg19813_03 and Veg19943_03.

 

In the View “8194VegGrids” are found:

  • Veg1981v2gr01: a rasterized grid of Veg19813_03.shp used to create the overlay map
  • Veg1994v3gr01: a rasterized grid of Veg19943_03.shp used to create the overlay map
