Summer Camp 2014
Summer Camp at the Valene L. Smith Museum of Anthropology encourages creative activities to learn about other people, places and time periods throughout the world. Using hands-on activities, like drama, science, music, cooking, and art, children will travel the world, learning about people and cultures. For Children Ages 5-11.

Come in person or mail in your applications. Brand new themes for a half day schedule. Designed for ages 5-11.
Fun begins June 30, 2014
Price Per Session: Monday-Thursdays Half Day (a.m. ) price is $75 a week. Please note that Week 1 is a short week - Monday-Wednesday. The price for this week is per day $25 or $75 for all three days (the museum will be closed July 3rd and 4th).

Week I June 30-July 2 Explore Fantasy Worlds— Three camps in one week
Pick and choose or sign up for all three! $25 per camp day.
Mon-Harry Potter/ Tues-Dr. Who/ Wed-Pirates of Caribbean
Find out the answers to these questions and more: What’s your patronus?
What do time lords know about aliens? Did pirates really walk the plank?
Week II July 7– July 10 Shipwreck Archaeology
The museum’s exhibit tells the story of navigation and the shipwreck of the Frolic in 1850.
How do archaeologists explore underwater? Find out about famous shipwrecks.
Week III July 14-17 Cosmic Volcanoes
Volcanoes are essential to life on Earth. Could they be the key to finding life beyond Earth?
Discover the most active volcano in our solar system. Can volcanoes be icy cold?
Week IV July 21-24 Jungle Safari
Explore the jungle ecosystems in Africa, Asia, South America and Australia.
Go on a Symbiotic Safari to see the relationships between animals on these continents.
