Priority Undergraduate Application Filing Period for fall 2017 admission.

October 1, 2016–March 1, 2017
Priority Graduate and Credential Programs Application Filing Period for fall 2017 admission.

October 15, 2016-March 1, 2017
Fall Credential application period.

October 22, 2016
Chico Preview Day.
Interested prospective students and families tour campus and meet academic representatives.

December 15, 2016
Last day to apply for bachelor’s degree expected in December 2017.


2017 

January 2–February 15, 2017
Financial Aid & Scholarship Office application filing period for 2017/2018 scholarships.

April 7
Last day to file an appeal for academic reinstatement for fall 2017.

April 8
Choose Chico!
Open house for fall 2017 admitted students & families; includes campus tours, and academic presentations.

April 17–July 26
Registration (Priority). Check the Class Schedule(opens in new window) on the CSU, Chico Web for registration begin/end dates.

May 1
Intent to Enroll Deadline and Enrollment Confirmation Deposit due for admitted (fall) Undergraduate applicants.

June 1
Priority deadline to submit requested verification items to the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office.

June 6–July 27
Orientation programs and academic advising for new students.

July 15
Final Document Deadline for completion of admitted students’ admission files. Transcripts should be postmarked by no later than Friday, July 15.

July 26
Registration (Priority) Deadline for fall 2017.

July 26
Registration & Tuition Fee Payment Deadline.
Deadline for students with registration activity (including waitlist only) through this date. Failure to pay fees (or have sufficient accepted financial aid) can be subject to disenrollment, late fees, or have services withheld.

July 31–September 1
Registration Add/Drop Period. After August 10, students must have paid registration and tuition fees or have sufficient anticipated aid to pay fees to add classes.

August 10
2nd Registration & Tuition Fee Payment Deadline.
Deadline for students with registration (including waitlist only) between July 27-August 10. Failure to pay fees (or have sufficient accepted financial aid) can be subject to disenrollment, late fees, or have services withheld.

August 15
Last day to apply for a bachelor’s degree expected in August 2018.

August 17–24
Wildcat Welcome.
Welcome activities for new students.

August 17
Academic year begins; all faculty on duty.

August 17
Financial Aid Refunds.
First financial aid refunded by Direct Deposit or mail to students who have met all processing requirements and who have a credit balance after total charges are paid.

August 20
Last day to drop all classes to receive a full refund (less administrative fee).

August 21
Fall Classes Begin.

August 21
Term withdrawals on or after this date (but by October 23) will be eligible for a prorated refund of registration fees and non-resident tuition. 

September 1
Last day to add or drop classes without special permission of instructor. You are financially responsible for any fees associated with classes in which you are enrolled on this date plus any classes in which you subsequently enroll.

September 4
Labor Day. Campus closed.

September 15
Census Date.
No adding, dropping of classes, or changing of grade option beyond this date without a serious and compelling reason approved by the instructor, department chair, and college dean. Financial aid may be adjusted based on less than full time enrollment at census date.

September 15
Deadline for master’s students who are not regularly enrolled to register for adjunct enrollment.

September 15
Last day for Open University students to pay fees without late charge.

September 15
Last day to apply for a master’s degree expected in December 2017.

September 26
A late fee for each submission of an Add/Drop Request form begins.

October20
Last day to apply without a late charge for a California teaching credential expected in December 2017.

October 23
Withdrawals after this date will NOT receive any financial credit for refund.

November 10
Veterans Day (observed). Campus closed.

November 13–December 15
Dropping classes permitted only because of serious illness or accident and with the approval of the college dean.

November 20–24
Thanksgiving Break. No classes held.

November 23
Thanksgiving Day. Campus Closed.

November 27
Last day for master’s degree candidates to take oral or comprehensive examinations; submit thesis or terminal project; and submit final progress sheet to Graduate Studies.

December 11–15 
Final exam week.

December 11–31
Fall semester grade submission period.
Submit grades to Office of the Registrar.

December 16–January 21, 2018
Winter Break.

December 25
Christmas Day. Campus closed.

December 31
Fall 2017 semester ends.
Official fall semester graduation date.

Winter Session 2018

November 1, 2017–January 2, 2018
Winter Session registration period for courses offered through Regional and Continuing Education.

December 7
Winter Session Fee Payment Deadline.

January 1
New Year’s Day. Campus Closed.

January 2
Winter Session Classes Begin.

January 3–5
Adds and drops require instructor approval.
Use Continuing Education Add/Drop form.

January 8–19
Adds and drops require serious and compelling reason plus instructor, chair, and dean approval.

January 15
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Campus closed.

January 19
Last day of Winter Session classes.

January 31
Winter Session grades due.
