Students are strongly recommended to notify their instructors that they are registered with the Accessibility Resource Center, at the beginning of each semester. Use of the Service Request Portal notification system verifies that you are receiving services from ARC, enabling discussion about your accommodation needs. The student may also request that the advisor send an introductory e-mail letter to the instructors.
- If disability-related access problems occur in the classroom, students should first try to solve the issue with their instructor.
- If approaching the instructor directly does not result in reasonable access, ARC advisors will assist students with the process. Advisors can discuss strategies with students regarding how to approach instructors with access issues.
- If an issue cannot be satisfactorily resolved, the student may discuss the situation with Student Judicial Affairs on campus.
