Temporary Disabilities

Accessibility Resource Center provides services to students with disabilities based on the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, which defines disability as "having a physical or mental impairment that limits one or more of the major life activities."

Temporary, non chronic impairments of short duration (less than three months), with little or no residential effects, that are expected to heal normally do not substantially limit a major life activity and therefore, do not meet the definition of disability.

Anyone with a temporary disability who feels they meet the legal definition of disability and are interested in ARC services, please contact Debbie Boyes (dboyes@csuchico.edu) in the ARC office.
