Faculty Portal Instructions
Accessibility Resource Center uses an on-line Service Request Portal to request accommodations. The new system is more secure, saves time and resources, as well as simplifies the process for students and faculty. Please note that students will only have access to those services for which they have been approved by their DSS Advisor.
Currently, the following services are available at the on-line Service Request Portal:
- Instructor Notification of Accommodations
- Exam Services
- Note taker Services
All requests for exams to be facilitated by ARC must be submitted on-line.
Students will initiate a request for exam services by using the Services Request Portal located on the ARC Website.
Faculty Notification/Request for Confirmation
- You will receive an e-mail “Test: ARC Exam Request-Action Required” from the student
- Click on the link to confirm the exam
- If you have concerns, you can "request a consultation" from ARC
- Fill out the form to indicate specific information about the administration and delivery of the exam
- Once you confirm the request, an email confirmation is sent to ARC and to the student.
Getting Exams to ARC
Exams can be delivered to ARC in customary ways (email, fax, campus mail, student or faculty delivery).
Questions or special instructions can be noted in "other instructions" or by contacting the ARC Exam Services Coordinator, Debbie Boyes, at x5127.
Note Taker Services:
Student can now request a note taker using the on-line Service Request Portal. Students will select the need for a note taker, which will generate a confidential email to all registered students and instructors in the specified class. Students who wish to volunteer are directed to a link to provide their contact information directly to the requesting student.
ARC encourages faculty to continue to announce the need for a note taker using the suggested language in the email notification.
Instructor Notification of Accommodations:
Students now have the ability to notify their instructors of ARC services and classroom accommodations via an electronic email notification. Please note that students will only have access to notification for those services for which their ARC Advisor has approved them.
