Narrative Shorts Film + Video Festival

November 4 – 20, 2008

Deadline: send to arrive by May 1

The University Art Gallery is curating a program of film and video works that are narrative in structure. The gallery seeks works under ten minutes in length that convey a story through a sequence of events. Works may be fictional or non-fictional. The festival opens with a special screening of selected works at the University Film Series in Chico State's Little Theatre on November 4. Works will be on view during continuous screenings at the University Art Gallery, November 5 – 20, 2008.

There is no entry fee.

Review and screening format: DVD (NTSC), under 10 minutes.

Please include your name, address, email + telephone, artist statement + bio, plus SASE for return of work. Submissions without a return SASE become the property of the University Art Gallery.

Works will be selected by Jason Tannen, Curator, University Art Gallery and Thomasin Saxe, Director of Special Projects, College of Humanities & Fine Arts.

The fine print: Unless advised otherwise, the gallery is permitted to use images or clips from selected works to promote the Narrative Shorts Film + Video Festival. All submitted works will be professionally handled. However, the University Art Gallery and California State University, Chico cannot assume responsibility for damage or deterioration incurred before, during or after the exhibition or for any loss or damage in transit. Your entry denotes acceptance of these rules, guidelines and procedures.
