ATI Spotlight
ATI consists of three priority areas:
Accessible Technology Initiative
ATI is an initiative of the CSU Chancellor's Office designed to insure that all CSU campuses "provide access to information resources and technologies to individuals with disabilities."
All CSU campuses have a responsibility to comply with the provisions of Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act in the three areas addressed by ATI:
- Web Accessibility
- Instructional Materials Accessibility
- Accessible Electronic and Information Technology Procurement
For information regarding the committees on campus that are dealing with ATI, please visit the IRES ATI Project page.
How Does ATI Affect Me?
Web Sites
If you maintain or are responsible for a campus Web site, you will need to review your site's compliance with Section 508. You can check on the status of your site online at juno.csuchico.edu (not all campus sites are tracked yet).
In addition, there are 48 'critical' sites on campus that are required to conform to Section 508 no later than May 15, 2009. You can see if your site is on this list here.
Instructional Materials
It is the responsibility of faculty members to ensure that their instructional materials are accessible to all students including textbooks, electronic documents, multimedia and web content. Training, tutorials and other resources are available from the Technology and Learning Program to support faculty with their online course materials.
Read the ATI FAQ for Faculty on the Technology and Learning Program web site.
