Member Guide Line
Objective: To provide a recreation ground for
students who are interested to play badminton and to improve members to be more
skillful and competitive in playing badminton.
Budgets
Since fall 1997, the A.S. (Associated Student at Chico) has changed its policy for sports clubs at CSUC that no funding is allocated to any recreational sport club. The badminton club is currently for recreational purpose, there is no direct funding from the university. Thus for the survival of the badminton club, the club committee in this academic year, listed below, voted to charge each member with membership fee. Most of the birdies were passed on from last semester and unusable. As for the budget, the club needs to order a number of plastic birdies for this semester. Each tube (6 birdies) costs about $10. The club needs 12 tubes ($10 x 12 = $120). In addition, the club estimates approximately $30 for flyers, first-aid items, and miscellaneous expenses.

Please sign up your name and contact information at the first time you come
to visit the club; you must pay the membership fee to the treasurer (see below)
at the second time you come to practice, if you are interested to join the
club. The membership fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Members are welcome to bring guests to
the club; guests will follow the same payment rule as stated here. The club
provides plastic birdies and rackets if you do not own yours. The
badminton committee reserves the right to terminate a membership if
the club member, who owns the membership, violates any CSU Chico University
policy.
Training for
beginners
As
far as training hours are concerned, the club has reserved one court for
training purpose that is by appointment only. If you are a beginner or would like to improve your game and
skills, you are always welcome to contact one of our committee officers to set
up an appointment.
