CSU, Chico - Ballroom Classes

CSU, Chico offers several different beginning and intermediate ballroom dance classes. Each class covers several different dances, though the selection depends upon each instructor. Typically, beginning classes include Swing, Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Street Hustle, Cha-Cha, and may optionally touch on Salsa or Rhumba. More advanced forms of these dances are often taught in the intermediate classes, which may also cover West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Night Club, Mambo, and Samba. (Intermediate dance selection varies by semester and instructor.)

• Ballroom Lab Time

  • Fridays: 2/29, 4/11, & 4/25.

  • Description: An opportunity for students to practice what they've learned in class or even learn something new! TA's are available to answer questions, but labs are not structured like a class. You do not need to bring a partner and music selection is "by request."
    Lab time may be used to make up absences; ask your instructor!

• Pre-Dance Lesson

  • Description: The club holds a beginning and intermediate lesson before each dance event. Check the Dance section for details!

BDC Workshops

It is recommended that students know some basic steps and 3-4 advanced moves for the listed dance before attending a workshop. There will be several workshops geared for beginners.
