Self-guided Nature Trail

The self-guided nature trail begins at the Kiosk by the headquarters barn and makes a 0.7 mile elongated loop to minimize climbing. We tried to make the trail "handicap accessible," but the steep topography of the canyon made it impossible to meet slope limitations and the trail includes short grades up to 11%. Handicapped persons should not try it without being accompanied by a qualified assistant. A limited number of trail guides can be borrowed at the Kiosk. If you want one to keep, a pdf version of the guide is available for download and printing. The trail is designed as an easy walk where people can observe nature. There are hundreds more things to see then are included on the guide; many of those things change from season to season or even moment to moment. Several sites are provided with benches or logs for resting or watching wildlife.
