BCCER Research and Class Use

The Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve is an educational resource serving as an outdoor laboratory, a natural museum, and an outdoor classroom. One goal of BCCER management is to promote and accommodate use of the Reserve for research and educational purposes. The procedures listed below will assist you in your request to use Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve.

Research

  1. Contact Research and Education Coordinator (bccereducation@csuchico.edu) to discuss proposed activities or call (530) 342-1371
  2. Review research/education protocol. Apply for research permit(s) using the online system (link below)
    Permits are valid until June 30th of each year. Annual and final report notifications will be sent to researchers via email
  3. Following application approval, arrange BCCER orientation with Research & Education Coordinator. Orientations are for first time reserve users

Class Use

  2. Review research/education protocol
  3. Apply for a class permit using the online system (link below) Instructors teaching multiple courses will need an application for each class using BCCER
  4. Following application approval, arrange BCCER orientation with Research & Education Coordinator. Orientations are for first time reserve users
