Visitors Enjoy Exciting Exhibitions Across Campus Disciplines
Chico State’s museums, galleries, and collections showcase the latest in science, introduce the public to anthropology, and feature premier artwork.
- The Gateway Science Museum inspires the exploration of science and natural history of the North State and beyond. It hosted 18,500 visitors in 2012, including more than 7,100 children on field trips.
- The Janet Turner Print Museum features 3,500 fine art prints spanning six centuries and more than 40 countries. Artists include Dali, Goya, Hockney, Picasso, Rembrandt, and Tamayo.
- Students in the museum studies program get hands-on training at the Valene L. Smith Museum of Anthropology. They design and install exhibits that educate visitors about human cultural diversity.
- The Chico State Herbarium contains 105,000 dried and mounted plants. It is the most complete repository of plant specimens from northeastern California.
