The graduate program in the Department of Geography and Planning at California State University, Chico integrates critical geographic and planning research, teaching, and service in a manner relevant to the real world. Our emphasis is on the applications of geographical and planning theory and geospatial techniques to local and regional issues and environments, while striving to present these issues in the context of regional and global change. We are committed to helping our graduate students becoming top quality professionals, scholars, or educators; our graduates will make leading contributions in academia, government, and in the private and non-profit sectors.
