Message from Interim Dean Eddie Vela

Dean Gayle HutchinsonWelcome to the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences where our students, faculty, staff, and graduates make a difference in the world. Aligned with university strategic priorities, the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences embraces a student-centered, problem-based approach to learning. College faculty is highly knowledgeable, innovative, and talented in their academic disciplines. Their scholarship and teaching is rich and diverse, mirroring both the interdisciplinary nature of the college and diversity found in global communities. Courses merge theory with practice. Students experience “hands on” learning through applied labs, field work, service learning, and community engagement. Opportunities for student support are abundant through one-on-one advising, faculty and peer mentoring, scholarships, and awards.

Please explore our Web pages and determine how you might involve yourself with us. Together, we will continue to make a difference in the world.

Warmly,

Dr. Eddie Vela
Interim Dean
