Robert Akin is a senior majoring in criminal justice.  He will be graduating this semester and is currently applying for employment with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  He, Kelly McCaffrey, and Alicia Sequeira are presenting research completed with all the students in their in their criminal justice capstone class taught by Dr. Matthew Thomas.

Jennifer Barzey is an undergraduate majoring in social work.  She will graduate this semester.  She will continue her studies next year in California State University, Chico's MSW program.  She is presenting her Honors in the Major project completed under the guidance of Dr. Hermeet Kohli.

Jason Besaw is an undergraduate majoring in criminal justice.  He is graduating this semester.  He plans on working in a civil service job with the U.S. Air Force as an In-Flight Refueler Technician.  He and Alison Post are presenting research completed with all the students in their in their criminal justice capstone class taught by Dr. Matthew Thomas.

Amy Buettner is an undergraduate majoring in sociology.  Amy graduates this semester and then she is moving to Hawaii.  She will be presenting her Honors in the Major research supervised by Dr. Andrew Dick.  She also presented this paper at the annual meeting of the Pacific Sociological Association on April 20, 2006. 

Tyler Cavaness is majoring in international economics.  He will receive his bachelor’s degree this May and plans to work after graduation.  He is presenting his Honors in the Major project completed under the guidance of Dr. John Eckalbar. 

Hsiang-Hua Chen is a graduate student majoring in psychology.  She expects to complete her master’s degree in December 2007 and plans to enter a PhD program.  She is presenting research from her master’s thesis being completed under the direction of Dr. Penelope Kuhn.

Emily Clark will receive her bachelor’s degree in social work this May.  She plans on working or attending graduate school.  She is presenting her Honors in the Major research completed under the direction of Dr. Hermeet Kohli.

Margaret Crahan is an undergraduate student majoring in social work who also presented a paper at the 2005 BSS Symposium.  She will receive her bachelor’s degree in social work this May and then enter an MSW program next year.  She is presenting research she completed for her Honors in the Major project under the direction of Dr. Hermeet Kohli.

Paula Cruz is an undergraduate majoring in psychology.  She will graduate in May 2008 and plans on attending graduate school.  Her work was completed with Jasmin Curiel, Betsaida LeBron-Merino, and Yolanda Salazar under the direction of Dr. Ted Singelis.

Jasmin Curiel
is a graduate student majoring in psychology.  She will complete her master’s degree in May 2007 and will enter a PhD program in community psychology.  Her work was completed with Paula Cruz, Betsaida LeBron-Merino, and Yolanda Salazar under the direction of Dr. Ted Singelis.

Kathryn Del Paine is an undergraduate majoring in economics.  She will graduate this May and will attend law school next year.  She is presenting a study that she completed for Honors in the Major under the direction of Dr. Pete Tsournos.  On April 21, 2006 she presented this research at the Restoring Nature Conference sponsored by the Department of Economics and the Economics Club.

Jessica Dimka is a graduate student majoring in anthropology.  She expects to complete her degree in May 2008 and then intends to pursue a PhD in anthropology.  She is presenting a research project she completed in Dr. Turhon Murad’s Seminar in Physical Anthropology with guidance from Dr. P. Willey.

Brandi Halsted will receive her bachelor’s degree in social work this May.  She will continue her studies next year as a graduate student in the MSW program at SUNY, Buffalo.  She is presenting her Honors in the Major project completed under the guidance of Dr. Hermeet Kohli.

Cara Haverstock is a senior majoring in economics.  She plans to seek employment in a field associated with economics.  Cara would eventually like to attend graduate school.  She will be presenting her Honors in the Major research under the direction of Dr. John Eckalbar.

Rachel Kinney is graduating this semester with a bachelor’s degree in sociology.  She plans to teach English in Japan for one year and then attend graduate school or law school.  She will be presenting research from her Honors in the Major project under the guidance of Dr. Liahna Gordon.

Betsaida LeBron-Merino is an undergraduate psychology major.  She will graduate this semester.  Betsaida is presenting her Honors in the Major project supervised by Dr. Sandra Machida.  She is also presenting research completed under the direction of Dr. Ted Singelis with Paula Cruz, Jasmin Curiel, and Yolanda Salazar.

Pauline Light is a graduate student majoring in psychology.  She expects to finish her graduate work this summer and then intends to teach for a year before beginning a PhD program.  The research she is presenting is part of her master’s thesis being completed under the direction of Dr. Penelope Kuhn.

Kimberlee Perry
will be graduating this semester with a bachelor’s degree in social work.  Next year she will continue her studies and begin the MSW program.  She is presenting her Honors in a Major project under the guidance of Dr. Hermeet Kohli.

Alison Post is majoring in criminal justice.  She is graduating this semester.  She and Jason Besaw are presenting research completed with all the students in their criminal justice capstone class taught by Dr. Matthew Thomas.

Arthur Reed is an undergraduate majoring in sociology and studio arts.  He expects to graduate in May 2008 and then plans to attend graduate school to earn advanced degrees in sociology.  He is presenting his Honors in the Major project completed under the guidance of Dr. Cynthia Siemsen.

Deserea’ Reville is an undergraduate majoring in social work.  She will receive her bachelor’s degree this May.  She plans on working at the children’s services division of the Department of Social Services after graduation.  She is presenting research she completed for her Honors in the Major project under the supervision of Dr. Hermeet Kohli.

Chris Rowland is an undergraduate majoring in economics.  He will receive his bachelor’s degree this May.  After taking a year off, he intends to return to school to pursue a graduate degree.  He is presenting his Honors in the Major project completed under the direction of Dr. John Eckalbar.

Yolanda Salazar is majoring in psychology.  She will graduate this semester and is applying to graduate school.  Her work was completed with Paula Cruz, Jasmin Curiel, and
Betsaida LeBron-Merino under the direction of Dr. Ted Singelis. 

Alicia Sequeira is a criminal justice major.  She will graduate this semester and intends on becoming an activist and lobbying for education and women and children’s rights.  She, Robert Akin, and Kelly McCaffrey are presenting research completed with all the students in their criminal justice capstone class taught by Dr. Matthew Thomas.

James Shimp graduated from Chico State in December 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology.  He is planning on attending graduate school at the University College of London.  He is presenting his Honors in the Major project under the supervision of Dr. Georgia Fox.

Adam Tischler is a graduate student majoring in geography and planning who also presented a paper at the 2004 BSS Symposium.  He will graduate with a master’s degree in December 2006 and hopes to teach after graduation.  The research he is presenting is part of his master’s thesis being completed under the direction of Dr. Jacquelyn Chase.

Penny Vang is a senior majoring in social work and will be graduating this semester.  She plans to work for a year and then continue her studies in a graduate program.  She is presenting her Honors in the Major project under the supervision of Dr. Hermeet Kohli.
Michelle Viola is an undergraduate majoring in health science.  She expects to graduate in December 2006.  After graduation she will conduct research in a postbaccalaureate program with the National Institutes of Heath and then attend graduate school.  She will be presenting research from her Honors in the Major project under the supervision of Dr. Lyndall Ellingson.

Carly Wardlaw is a social work major and will receive her bachelor’s degree this May.  She plans on working in the field of social work after graduation.  She is presenting her Honors in the Major project under the supervision of Dr. Hermeet Kohli.
