Nicole Alfaro plans to graduate in May 2008 with bachelor’s degrees in both psychology and Latin American studies. She hopes to continue her education and earn a PhD. She is presenting work she completed with Jasmin Curiel in a Research in Psychology course under the guidance of Dr. Ted Singelis. Daniel Allmon is a geography major. After completing his bachelor's degree in May 2008, he plans to attend graduate school. Daniel is co-presenting research with Kathleen Benson. Their work was completed in an Introduction to Community and Rural Planning course taught by Dr. LaDona Knigge. Talal H. Alsaleem is a graduate student majoring in psychology. After graduating this May, he plans to get some clinical experience and then enter a PhD program in clinical psychology. Talal completed the work on his master’s thesis with the guidance of Dr. Margaret Bierly. Susan Bachlor is completing a bachelor's degree in health sciences, with an option in health education and gerontology and a minor in nutrition. After graduation this May, she plans on working in the field of geriatrics in Butte County. In the fall, she will be sitting for the national exam to become a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). She is resenting her honors in the major project, completed with Dr. Jeanne Freeman. Arthur Balizan is an undergraduate student majoring in economics. After graduation in May, Arthur is going to be starting graduate work on an applied economics degree at the University of Michigan. He is presenting his honors in the major project completed with Dr. John Eckalbar. Kathleen Benson is an undergraduate geography and planning major who plans to graduate in May 2009. She is co-presenting research she completed with Daniel Allmon in an Introduction to Community and Rural Planning course taught by Dr. LaDona Knigge. Bill Battinich is a master’s candidate in psychology. After he finishes in June, Bill plans to attend the University of Arkansas to earn his PhD in experiment psychology. Bill is presenting his master’s thesis under the direction of Dr. Neil Schwartz. Julieta Carrillo is an undergraduate sociology major. After graduation, she hopes to attend San Jose State University School of Library Science. Julieta is presenting her honors in the major project under the supervision of Dr. Liahna Gordon. Alexandra Caselli is an undergraduate that will be earning her degree in sociology in May. After graduation, she is moving to Atlanta to work for a year before returning to school to begin a master's degree in social work. She is presenting research completed in a qualitative research methods course under the direction of Dr. Liahna Gordon. Michael Commons is an undergraduate geography and planning major. After graduation in May 2008, Michael plans to attend graduate school in geography and planning and planning at CSU, Chico. He is co-presenting a research project with Alexander Oceguera. This work was completed in the Introduction to Community and Rural Planning taught by Dr. LaDona Knigge. Jasmin Curiel is a graduate student majoring in psychology. After graduation in May 2007, Jasmin plans to pursue a career in a field related to psychology and then apply to a PhD program in psychology. She is co-presenting research completed with Nicole Alfaro under the direction Dr. Ted Singelis. Jennifer Duggan is an undergraduate majoring in sociology who will receive her degree in May 2007. Jennifer is presenting her honors in the major project completed under the direction of Dr. Cynthia Siemsen. Kathleen Fischer is an undergraduate student majoring in psychology. After graduation this May, Kathleen is planning on attending a PhD program and study clinical psychology. She is presenting her honors in the major project completed with Dr. Penelope Kuhn. Junichi Fukuda is an undergraduate economics major. After graduation in May, Junichi is going to attend graduate school and study financial mathematics. He is presenting his honors in the major project completed under the direction of Dr. John Eckalbar. Jennifer Halpain will graduate this May with a master's degree in anthropology. After graduation, Jennifer plans to move to New Mexico to begin a career in teaching or genetics laboratory work. Her master’s thesis, which she will be presenting, was completed under the guidance of Dr. P. Wiley and Dr. Eric Bartelink. Jared Hancock is an undergraduate geography and planning major. After graduation this May, he will continue working as an assistant planner for the city of Oroville. Jared is presenting research conducted in the Proseminar in Geography course taught by Dr. LaDona Knigge. Rebecca Janeway will complete her master's degree in psychology in August 2007. After graduating, Rebecca plans to enter a P.D program in clinical psychology. She is presenting her master’s thesis completed with Dr. Penelope Kuhn. Natalie Kiunke is a graduate student majoring in psychology who will complete her degree in fall 2007. After graduation, she will be pursuing a career in a field related to psychology. Natalie is presenting her master’s thesis being completed under the direction of Dr. Neil Schwartz. Christopher Kong is an undergraduate majoring in geography and planning. After graduation this May, he plans on working for a local government agency. He completed this research project in Dr. LaDona Knigge's Proseminar in Geography course. Nancy Leos de Thiele plans to complete her undergraduate psychology degree this summer and then will enter CSU, Chico’s marriage and family therapy graduate program in the Department of Psychology. She is presenting research completed with Myriam Torres in the Research in Psychology class taught by Dr. Ted Singelis. Michelle Ma is a graduate student majoring in social work. After graduation in May, she plans to find employment in the social work field. Michelle is presenting her master's project completed under the supervision of Dr. Vincent Ornelas. Judith Mathieu is a social work graduate student. After she gets her degree in May, she hopes to find employment. She is presenting research conducted for her master's thesis completed under the guidance of Dr. David Bassett. Kota Minegishi is an economics major who will graduate in May. He will enter the University of Maryland’s agricultural economics graduate program in the fall of 2007. He is presenting his honors in the major research project completed with Dr. John Eckalbar. Chad Mortenson will complete his masters in psychology in May 2008. He hopes to continue his graduate studies and earn a PhD. Chad is presenting research he conducted in Germany. Jamie Nolan will complete her bachelor's degree in psychology this May. After graduation, she plans to travel abroad to get work experience in the field and prepare for graduate school. She completed her work for this presentation in her honors class, Genocide and Mass Persuasion, under the direction of Dr. Carol Edelman. Alexander Oceguera will earn his bachelor's degree in geography and planning this May. After graduation, he hopes to work as a planner for the city of Santa Rosa. He is presenting research he completed in the Proseminar in Geography class taught by Dr. LaDona Knigge. He is also presenting research completed with Michael Connors in the Introduction to Community and Rural Planning course also taught by Dr. LaDona Knigge. Joanne Panchana is an undergraduate student in geography and planning. She will be graduating in May. Joanne is hoping to begin her career in northern California in environmental policy; she is also hoping to attend law school within a few years of graduation. Joanne is presenting research completed in Dr. LaDona Knigge's Proseminar in Geography course. Mangan Pulford will complete her master's degree in anthropology in August 2007. After graduation, Mangan is planning on teaching or working in a laboratory. Her presentation is based on her master’s thesis that she is completing with Dr. P. Willey, Dr. Beth Shook and Dr. Eric Bartelink. Amy Quarre’ will receive her bachelor's degree in psychology this spring, after which she will be attending the Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program at Mills College to prepare for medical school. She is presenting her honors in the major research project completed under the guidance of Dr. Penelope Kuhn. Jodie Rettinhouse is a graduate student majoring in social science. After graduation this May, she is planning on working in the Career Planning and Placement office at CSU, Chico. She will be presenting research completed for her master's degree with the guidance of Dr. Cynthia Siemsen. Alyssum Root is studying public administration in the Department of Political Science. She will be graduating in May 2008 and continue to work with “New Ways to Work” organization after she graduates. She is presenting a research paper completed under the direction of Dr. Diane Schmidt. Her paper has been accepted for publication in the National Social Science Journal, the peer reviewed publication of the National Social Science Association. Anna Sorensen will be graduating in May with a bachelor's degree in sociology. This fall, she will begin work on her Ph.D. in sociology at UC Santa Barbara. She is presenting her honors in the major project completed with Dr. Cynthia Siemsen. Tristan Stroud finished her bachelor's degree in child development in fall 2006. She has been employed by the Chico Unified School District as an instructional aide, working with special needs children. She now hopes to find a position working with autistic children in home-based or school-based settings. Her presentation is based on research conducted for Dr. Judy Bordin's child development senior seminar. Myriam Torres an undergraduate sociology major. After graduation in May, she plans to complete a graduate degree in social work. She is presenting research completed with Nancy Leos de Thiele under the direction of Dr. Ted Singelis. Traci Van Deest is a graduate student majoring in anthropology. After graduation in May, Traci plans to attend University of New Mexico to pursue a PhD in anthropology. She is presenting research conducted for her master's thesis under the direction of Dr. Turhon Murad. Traci has also presented this research at the American Academy of Forensic Sciences Annual Meeting and the Anthropology Forum on the CSU, Chico campus. Ashley Weber will be graduating in May with a degree in sociology. After graduation, Ashley is considering working with the state of California as a youth correctional counselor or studying at CSU Sacramento. She is presenting her Honors in the Major project completed with Dr. Andrew Dick. She has presented this research at the Pacific Sociological Association. |
