Rural Driving

The Department of Bus Reservations regrets to inform your department that due to road conditions, and damage to our vehicles, the buses will not travel on; unpaved roads, roads known to have problematic speed bumps, or areas where they are unable to easily navigate a 3 point turn. After careful review of the following locations we are able to provide drop off service at the following points:

Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve:

The buses will provide drop-off and pick up at the first gate, but will no longer be able to travel past the gate towards the barn.

Butte Creek Ecological Preserve:

The buses will provide drop-off and pick up at the first main parking lot. The buses will no longer travel past the gate.

Centerville Cemetery:

We will provide transportation to the Centerville Cemetery, but will no longer be able to travel past the cemetery.

University Farm:

The buses will provide drop-off and pick up at the Farm Pavilion and Mechanical Shops South of the Administrative Office building. Our buses are not able to travel South of University Farm Road on Nicholas C. Schouten Lane or Hengst Drive. 

Upper Bidwell Park:

The buses will provide drop-off and pick up at any of the three parking lots in the Horse Shoe Lake area, but will no longer be able to travel past the gate towards the Bear Hole.

Unspecified locations with unpaved roads:

Bus Driver’s will use their discretion when asked to drive on other unpaved roads not mentioned above. Drivers have the authority to decline requests that would put passengers safety at risk or which may result in damage to one of the University Buses.
