Peer Educator Program - Students are hired and trained each semester to make presentations to classes and campus groups/organizations.Students are also hired to coordinate awareness activities and alcohol-free alternative events.
Applications must be picked up from the CADEC
open Mon-Fri 9am-5pm.

Peer Educator
Clerical / Reception
Duties:
- Serve as receptionist for office, refer phone calls, take messages
- Provide limited referral information as needed
- Maintain filing system
- Type routine letters and memos
- Maintain brochure display and resource library
- Provide general clerical support as needed
- Staff office 20 hours per week (4 hour shift either mornings or afternoons)
- Fill out forms and take to appropriate offices
Qualifications:
- General office experience
- Basic computer and word processing (Mac preferred)
- Professional, multiline phone skills
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments
- Friendly, people-oriented demeanor
- Working knowledge of correct English, grammar, spelling and punctuation
Compensation:
- $7.85, 10-20 hours per week
- Must be Work Study student

Peer Educator
Duties:
- Speak to classes and groups about drug and alcohol issues
- Assist in updating and maintaining resource library on alcohol and other drug issues for college students
- Assist students, faculty and staff who are researching alcohol and drug topics
- Organize non-alcohol, no-drug related social activities throughout the year
- Coordinate campus-wide alcohol and drug awareness campaigns
Qualifications:
- Ability to work as a team to coordinate activities and programs
- Experience in public speaking
- Ability to conduct educational workshops
- Strong organizational skills
- Above average oral and written communication skills
- Ability to deal sensitively and maturely with people from all cultures, walks of life and backgrounds.
- Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed
Compensation:
- $7.85, 10-20 hours per week
- Must be work study
- Internship option available
