Peer Educator Program - Students are hired and trained each semester to make presentations to classes and campus groups/organizations.Students are also hired to coordinate awareness activities and alcohol-free alternative events.


Applications must be picked up from the CADEC
open Mon-Fri 9am-5pm.

Clerical/Reception
Peer Educator

Clerical / Reception

Duties:

  1. Serve as receptionist for office, refer phone calls, take messages
  2. Provide limited referral information as needed
  3. Maintain filing system
  4. Type routine letters and memos
  5. Maintain brochure display and resource library
  6. Provide general clerical support as needed
  7. Staff office 20 hours per week (4 hour shift either mornings or afternoons)
  8. Fill out forms and take to appropriate offices

Qualifications:

  1. General office experience
  2. Basic computer and word processing (Mac preferred)
  3. Professional, multiline phone skills
  4. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments
  5. Friendly, people-oriented demeanor
  6. Working knowledge of correct English, grammar, spelling and punctuation

Compensation:

  • $7.85, 10-20 hours per week
  • Must be Work Study student

Peer Educator

Duties:

  1. Speak to classes and groups about drug and alcohol issues
  2. Assist in updating and maintaining resource library on alcohol and other drug issues for college students
  3. Assist students, faculty and staff who are researching alcohol and drug topics
  4. Organize non-alcohol, no-drug related social activities throughout the year
  5. Coordinate campus-wide alcohol and drug awareness campaigns

Qualifications:

  1. Ability to work as a team to coordinate activities and programs
  2. Experience in public speaking
  3. Ability to conduct educational workshops
  4. Strong organizational skills
  5. Above average oral and written communication skills
  6. Ability to deal sensitively and maturely with people from all cultures, walks of life and backgrounds.
  7. Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed

Compensation:

  • $7.85, 10-20 hours per week
  • Must be work study
  • Internship option available
