There is no additional math requirement for the CAGD major. The math required is part of the General Education Requirements.

How do I change my major to CAGD? Back to Top

Visit this link, Plan Change, sign in to your portal account and choose the correct options. To add the CAGD Major, click the Major bubble then click add and scroll through the list of Academic Plans to the bottom and choose CAGD Major. You will then be prompted to save the PDF and print. The form will then need to be signed by the advisor of the Major/Minor/Certificate you are adding which will be Clarke Steinback.

The Communication Design supplement includes areas of interest such as graphic design, broadcasting, video production, and instructional design among others.

The Art Studio supplement includes areas of interest such as drawing, ceramics, and art history.

What is mandatory advising? Back to Top

Mandatory advising ensures that students progress through the Computer Animation and Game Development Program in a concise manner, maintaining the Major goals and objectives of the Major.  Mandatory advising takes place each academic year in the Spring Semester. Advising must be accomplished prior to the Fall registration deadline or a hold will be placed on the student's account and registration will be impossible until the mandatory advising requirement has been met. Mandatory advising is not required in the Fall semester.

Will I need a drawing tablet for CAGD? Back to Top

Yes, after taking Computer-Assisted Art (APCG 110) a Wacom tablet is required for Concept Design and Storyboarding (APCG 117) and will be used throughout the remainder of courses in the Major. Please click Wacom Tablet for more information.

What are the specifications for a digital camera for CAGD 112 (Digital Photography)?

For CAGD 112, Digital Photography, the digital camera will need to have manual controls specifically for shutter speed, aperture, and white balance as well as a 16GB or higher SD memory card. For a helpful resource, visit DPReview and search for a camera with full manual Photography Features.

I have a time conflict with a class, what do I do? Back to Top

If you have a class with a time conflicting with another class you need to speak with your instructors to see if they are willing to allow you to leave early or come to a particular class late. If an instructor approves this request you must fill out a Class Add/Update form, have that instructor sign, then turn the form into the Office of the Registrar in SSC 110.
