Are teachers more obligated to the least or the best prepared students? Every semester, many Chico State faculty find themselves struggling to create and teach classes that are challenging and valuable to their broad student base. Invariably, though, some students feel left out. And the instructor may feel that teaching "to" certain segments of a class necessitates an abandonment of professional and personal educational standards. The forum covered different views about how faculty should manage trade-offs between meeting the needs of their least and best prepared students.
