Project Description

One focus has been to address the elimination of distributed confidential data and the requirement to provide a centralized storage for confidential data. Efforts include projects to provide confidential file storage for documents and small databases and to evaluate encryption solutions for workstation, laptop, and mobile computing devices, among others. Security and usability will need to be carefully balanced.

Additionally, the password management tool continues to be rolled out to faculty and staff allowing self-service password reset and stronger password rule enforcement. The security team also responds to vulnerabilities, threats, and breaches caused by hackers, viruses, and unauthorized use of electronic resources.
