• Becoming educated
about state and national standards for quality physical
education.
• Showing that
I value quality physical education by doing all I can
to demand that the teachers on my PE staff are REAL teachers,
not baby-sitters.
• Putting REAL
teachers in leadership positions, and supporting them
in every possible way.
• Never forgetting
that the number one priority is to teach all the students,
and while coaching after school sports is very important
it should not lead to sacrifices in the PE program.
• Not allowing
substitutions for physical education, as this would indicate
my lack of understanding of the crucial role REAL teachers
can play in curbing the rise in childhood obesity.
