Recreation
Whether your recreation is passive or active, Chico and its surrounding environment
have something for everyone. See Visitor Guides, Bookstores, CARD, Entertainment,
Museums and Galleries, Music, Parks, Restaurants and Theatres for a sampling.
In addition, Chico has many gyms and work-out centers for those who love
to work at recreation. Check the
weekly calendar section in the Chico News
& Review.

Religious Institutions
A wide variety of religions are represented in the Chico area. Many of
these have programs especially designed for students. The Chamber of Commerce publishes
a yearly guide in which are listed approximately 60 places of worship. See
the Yellow Pages for most churches and church organizations. For campus
organizations see also Belonging in The University Catalog.

Chico has more than 100 restaurants from which to choose, including pizza parlors,
gourmet bakeries, Mexican, Thai, Basque, Italian, German, Chinese, Japanese,
Arabian, Greek, fast food, ice cream parlors, hamburger joints, bagelsyou
name it, and the list is growing. See Visitor Guides, and, of course, for
