Ms. Rueda currently serves as a Lecturer in the Center for Bilingual/Multicultural
Studies. She has taught education courses in English and Spanish
at the undergraduate and professional preparation program level
for the past three academic years. She also teaches Spanish as
a foreign language for the CSU, Chico Department of Foreign Language
and Literatures.
Ms. Rueda earned a B.S. degree in Secondary Education in 1989
from Northern Arizona University. That same year, she began her
teaching career at a public school in southern California. She
received a M.A. degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other
Languages (TESOL) in 1993, and recently completed all required
coursework in the Language, Reading, and Culture doctoral program
at the University of Arizona, Tucson. Ms. Rueda has taught at
the secondary and tertiary levels in the United States and Mexico,
her native country. She enjoys working with students at all levels
and is also actively involved with some community organizations.
She is a member of the Hispanic Association for the Community
and Education (HACE). Through HACE, she has contributed considerable
time and effort to raise money to fund scholarships for deserving
local Hispanic college students.
