Monday, October 8 - Thursday October 18   

A Child’s View from Gaza

  • An exhibit of artwork by Palestinian children living in the Gaza Strip @ CCLC and in display cases at Ayres Hall.

 Opening Reception

  • View art exhibit, A Child’s View from Gaza. Ziad Abbas and Barbara Lubin from the Middle East Children’s
    Alliance will speak.  Arts and needlework items from Palestine will be on sale. Light refreshments.

 Experiencing Occupied Palestine and Beyond

  • Slide show presented by Sandra O’Neill and Emily Alma describing their Olive Harvest Tour in the West Bank.

Palestinian Cultural Night

  • Debka dancing – students from Hayward perform; community invited to join in. Other Palestinian cultural
    presentations @ CSU, Chico Free Speech Area

Film: Occupation 101

  • Award-winning documentary film on the root causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Discussion to follow.                                                                                           

7:00 – 9:00 p.m.  Slide Show: Eyewitness Gaza  

  • Skip Schiel, award-winning photographer, writer, and political activist, presents an account of his recent trip to Gaza with a focus on youth. Discussion to follow.

  • An award-winning documentary film about a Palestinian community that unites Fatah and Hamas members, and Israeli supporters in a nonviolent movement to save their village from destruction by Israel’s Separation Barrier.
