Computing and Communications Services
Welcome to Computing and Communications Services (CCSV). We are the organization within Information Resources responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of the campus cabling infrastructure; the data network (switches and routers); and the voice network including the Private Branch Exchange (PBX), telephone sets, and voice mail services. In addition, CCSV is responsible for the University's remote service in Northern California to provide network services, remote access, and telephone services.
Our Organization Includes
Communications Account Services (CASV) creates and manages telecom billing accounts, and administers the admin telecom billing Website. This online tool provides campus departments the ability to review their monthly voice and network charges. CASV also manages the phone lines in the university-owned residence halls, providing local and long distance voice services.
Enterprise Systems Group (ESYS) designs and maintains the server, database and data storage environment for campus-wide systems:
- Learning Management System (WebCT and Blackboard Learn)
- Centralized directory services (Active Directory and LDAP)
- MyWeb and faculty/staff web services
- Bay file Services
- Oak print services
- Data Warehouse
- Common Management System (PeopleSoft)
Network Operations (NOP) provides network operations, design, and development for all networks, both on-campus and major satellite locations. This scope of operations includes access networks (wireless, desktop wired connectivity), datacenter support, and network security infrastructure.
Telecommunications Services (TSRV) provides design, implementation, and management of voice and data communications on campus. TSRV services include telephone and networking cabling infrastructure for the campus telecommunications system, supported devices, and associated peripheral equipment, as well as management of the telephone and voicemail systems.
Improving Patient Care with Mobile Computing
This summer, Computing and Communications Services (CCSV) and Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) deployed mobile computing platforms for use in Student Health Services (SHS).
