Microsoft Lync

Microsoft Lync is a unified communications platform providing real-time communications and collaboration. It seamlessly integrates with Outlook e-mail and calendars and offers numerous features including instant messaging (IM), presence, contact management, web conferencing, desktop sharing and collaboration, and Persistent Chat - all through a consistent, familiar interface.

Lync is available at no charge to all campus employees with a valid CSU Chico Exchange email account. Lync accounts are automatically enabled when a user's Exchange email account is created. Following installation of the proper Lync client, users can begin communicating and collaborating with other Lync users.

Getting Started

From the navigation menu in the Lync Knowledge Base, download and install the Lync client. Follow the Additional Documentation link to find quick reference guides for the various features. Check other menu items for answers to frequently asked questions and other useful information. Refer to the Help file in the Lync client for information as well.
