The Department of Communication Design is a designated center for excellence. The talented and experienced faculty have distinguished academic and professional reputations in their fields. All are dedicated teachers. This unique, innovative, interdisciplinary department combines several disciplines to break down the walls between different fields of study. This gives you a more complete understanding of how the field you choose fits into the wider world of communications.
You will create media for education and training or the master's which offers advanced, specialized expertise.
You'll gain a strong foundation in communication history, theory, research, production techniques and technology.
The communication intern programs are intended as a transition between school and the work setting. Internships provide you with academic credit while pursuing on-the-job learning experiences in the communication field. Internship assignments are available throughout California as well as nationally in such areas as Washington D.C., Boston, and New York. Dr. John Long is the intern coordinator. Students must have a 2.5 GPA in order to qualify.
This course uses screenings of film, video, music and television to discuss the relationships between society, culture, and the media.
This special session of the Video Workshop course will be devoted to recording and production of of live music events.
