Facilities & Resources

The Communication Design department encompasses the areas of Information and Communication Systems, Instructional Technology, Media Arts, Graphic Arts, and Graphic Design.

These are technology-intensive fields that require a broad range of facilities and equipment. CDES maintains computer labs, audio editing labs, video editing labs, and prepress printing facilities. The department also provides equipment for student use in video, and audio activity classes.

Computing facilities include Macintosh and Windows workstations, flatbed and slide scanners, digital cameras, non-linear video editing stations, VCRs, color and black and white laser printing, and a variety of graphic design and multimedia software.

Summer 2008 Course Offerings

cdes 352: Media Arts & Identity

This course uses screenings of film, video, music and television to discuss the relationships between society, culture, and the media.

cdes 468: Video Production Workshop

This special session of the Video Workshop course will be devoted to recording and production of of live music events.
