Instructional Design and Technology addresses the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of products and programs for education and training. As a student working toward the Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology, you will learn how to determine training and educational needs, define instructional goals, establish measurable objectives, write tests and assessments, and develop media for the delivery of instruction. You will design and produce products for instruction that may involve print, video, audio CD-ROM and/or DVD-based components. Then you will find out how to evaluate the effectiveness of the instructional products you produce.
Graduates with the Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology are well qualified to become training development specialists in large corporations non-profits, and government agencies, as well as in consulting firms specializing in instructional design and multimedia development. Our graduates also find careers K-12 and institutions of higher education as specialists where technology and learning come together.
