Student Organizations

American Institute for Graphic Arts

AIGA, the professional association for design, is committed to furthering excellence in design as a broadly-defined discipline, strategic tool for business and cultural force. AIGA is the place design professionals turn to first to exchange ideas and information, participate in critical analysis and research and advance education and ethical practice. The California State University, Chico Student Group is affiliated with AIGA San Francisco chapter.

Designers in Progress

Designers in Progress is a club for students interested in graphic design, art, illustration, photography, and graphic arts. DIP is a formally recognized student organization and was founded in 1979. DIP averages about 70 plus members each year. DIP is recognized by leading professionals in the Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose, and Palo Alto markets.

Digital Filmmakers Guild

The Digital Filmmakers Guild (DFG) is a student group interested in going beyond the boundaries of traditional video production coursework. The guild is composed of Media Arts majors as well as other campus individuals who desire to express themselves via the electronic media.

Instructional Design & Technology Society

The Instructional Technology Society is a student organization recognized here on the CSU, Chico campus. The club was started to meet the needs of the Communication students studying Instructional Technology. Students from other areas such as Human Resource Management, Psychology, and Education may also find the club to be beneficial. Students from all majors are welcome. Summer 2008 Course Offerings

cdes 352: Media Arts & Identity

This course uses screenings of film, video, music and television to discuss the relationships between society, culture, and the media.

cdes 468: Video Production Workshop

This special session of the Video Workshop course will be devoted to recording and production of of live music events.
