Academy e-Learning Mission

Academy e‐Learning promotes excellence in learning and teaching by providing faculty with intensive, collaborative, and innovative course (re)design institutes. Cross disciplinary Academy e-Learning cohorts explore effective pedagogies, instructional technologies, and learning spaces in order to (re)design selected courses in ways that will improve student learning and engagement. Academy e-Learning institutes provide faculty with the resources they need to teach engaging and intellectually challenging courses and build a community that is continually redefining excellence in teaching through innovative approaches to student‐engaged learning.

Changes to Academy e-Learning

This year we will be piloting a new format and will be offering three discreet one week sessions during the 2017-18 AY (June, August, January) instead of one three-week session in June. The three-week model of AeL has been successful, but last year we received more applications than we could accommodate. We are offering this pilot as a way to meet the increased demand for collaboration focused on teaching improvement.   This model will allow us to work with more faculty and accommodate their demanding schedules. These one-week sessions are focused on teaching improvement rather than wholescale course redesign, but small changes can produce big results. We look forward to working with faculty and continuing to evolve our programming to better serve the campus.
