
CSU, Chico's Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching is pleased to announce the Fourteenth Annual Conference on Learning and Teaching for faculty, staff, students, and administration. The 2008 CELT Conference will be held October 8-10, 2008.
Each spring CELT puts out a call for proposals from CSU, Chico faculty, staff, students, and administrators for the following fall CELT Conference. Proposals from K-12, community colleges, and other institutions of higher education are also invited.
The CELT conference principle theme Intellectual Engagement In and Out of the Classroom encourages proposals that deal with ways to promote critical thinking, problem solving, and application of knowledge to new and/or applied settings.
The second conference strand is the general theme of Learning and Teaching, and the call for proposals welcomes proposals that promote student learning in any way. ALL proposals will be given equal consideration. Proposals that include student presenters are welcome.
CELT is also looking for discussion coordinators to help organize interdisciplinary panel presentations or workshops. Possible topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
CELT offers workshops on various teaching topics throughout the year. .
Noon-time discussions of topical issues.
