CELT Video Archive
CELT and Creative Media and Technology (CMT), along with the Technology and Learning Program (TLP), have teamed up to create video archives of all CELT workshops--starting Spring 2013!
You may "attend" sessions "virtually" from the comfort of your own office, home, or local coffee shop--benefiting from the ideas and experiences shared by CSU Chico faculty and staff, and the occassional outside presenter. Sessions on teaching practices, the RTP process, and much more have been archived!
Perhaps this is a logical progression, as CELT has been archiving selected sessions over the last few years. For some time, the TLP has provided expertise and staff support to capture CELT sessions via Bb Learn Collaborate, a videoconferencing tool available through our Learning Management System. The entire TLP staff has pulled together to help with this, and recently Jim Aird has been the friendly face and expert voice present at almost every CELT Workshop. Viewing these sessions requires downloading special (free) software, but the positive trade-off is crystal-clear visibility of the power point or other visuals provided by the presenters.
Media Production Services, a unit within ATEC, also has sent crews to video keynote speakers of the Annual CELT Conference on Learning and Teaching as well as select sessions throughout the year since 2012. In Spring 2013, Morgan Schmidt and Mike Magrey agreed to provide expanded support of the conference and general sessions, and Spring 2014 the Media Production Team has been scheduled to video every CELT session for the semester.
Given the amount of work required in the post-production phase, this is a valiant undertaking by ATEC in support of learning and teaching--and faculty development! Kudos to Dan Carter, Randy Wall, and Chris Westbay for their much-appreciated contributions.
