CELT is pleased to offer a one-time only grant for faculty who wish to pursue activities that promote university strategic goals associated with Civic Engagement, Assessment of Student Learning, Campus Internationalization, and/or Sustainability. The purpose of these grants is to provide support for faculty travel, release time, course development and /or creation of instructional enhancements that promotes one or more of these university strategic priorities. If accepted, a final report will be required, documenting the efficacy of the funding. These grants do not exceed $6,000.
The purpose of these grants is to provide an infusion of needed technology or other instructional supplements to enhance a course or department program. Instructional grants are intended to provide benefits to both faculty members and the students they teach. These grants are not intended for conference travel or summer stipends. If accepted, final reports will be required, documenting the efficacy of the funding. In general, amounts for these grants do not exceed $4,651.
14th Annual CELT Conference scheduled for October 8-10, 2008
Each spring CELT puts out a call for proposals from CSU, Chico faculty, staff, students, and administrators for the following fall CELT Conference. Proposals from K-12, community colleges, and other institutions of higher education are also invited.The CELT conference principle theme Intellectual Engagement In and Out of the Classroom encourages proposals that deal with ways to promote critical thinking, problem solving, and application of knowledge to new and/or applied settings.
The second conference strand is the general theme of Learning and Teaching, and the call for proposals welcomes proposals that promote student learning in any way. ALL proposals will be given equal consideration. Proposals that include student presenters are welcome.
CELT is also looking for discussion coordinators to help organize interdisciplinary panel presentations or workshops. Possible topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
The CELT family wants the fall conference to be relevant, exciting, and above all useful. The suggested sessions and topic areas are meant to provide a guide but you should not be dissuaded from submitting a proposal that you believe meets a need not listed.
The purpose of the Impact Grants is to enable course, program, or curriculum redesign that benefits multiple courses, departments, programs, or options. Impact Grants are intended to positively impact the quality and design of instruction. Matching funds by either the department and/or the college are required for submission. The appropriate department, college, and university processes for course or program approval must be followed. If accepted, final reports will be required, documenting the effects of the changes. In general, amounts for these grants may exceed $4,000.
