David Rahn

Mr. Rahn has been teaching at Chico State for the past 12 years for the Department of Management within the College of Business. He teaches a broad range of courses including Entrepreneurship, Applied Strategic Decision Making, Human Resources Strategy, Issues for MIS Professionals, and the Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management Practicum, a course designed to assist students in launching online businesses.  Mr. Rahn is the director of the e-Incubator, which operates within the Center for Entrepreneurship, and provides university community members such as faculty, students and alumni, with advice and support for launching an e-business venture.

Prior to teaching at Chico State, Mr. Rahn first became involved in e-business in 1995 while working as the Vice President of Marketing and New Product Development for Quintus Corp., a provider of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.  Mr. Rahn led the company to become one of the first CRM providers to have a web-based presence for both its products and marketing.  Following this he became a principle in a consulting firm focused on providing e-business consulting to large financial services companies such as New York Life.  Here, he led development and sales teams to create web-based communication and sales infrastructure for financial services agents to conduct business over the Internet.  Following this, Mr. Rahn embarked on a multi-year consulting project for a privately held corporation in Mountain View, California. In this project he evaluated numerous web-based tools and methodologies for rapid e-business prototyping.

In addition to directing the e-Incubator and teaching, Mr. Rahn is currently involved in an early-phase e-business project that is developing online management training solutions.
