Instructions for adding "Full" CHEM classes

Fall 2008

• April 14-May 23
  • Open registration for continuing students only
  • Many students will continue to make adjustments to their schedules so keep checking for possible openings
  • A Waiting List will be constructed for CHEM 320, CHEM 381 and CHEM 455L only during this period
    • Send an email to chem@csuchico.edu
    • We will send a follow-up email confirming your waiting list status.
    • You should still continue to check the availability of the course.
    • We will NOT add you to the class automatically; you still need to attend the class during the first week.
• June 3 - July 30
  • Registration reserved for new students only
  • A Waiting List will be constructed for CHEM 320, CHEM 381 and CHEM 455L only during this period
    • Send an email to chem@csuchico.edu
    • We will send a follow-up email confirming your waiting list status.
    • You should still continue to check the availability of the course.
    • We will NOT add you to the class automatically; you still need to attend the class during the first week.
• Aug 4
  • Open registration starts for all students
  • Many students will start making significant changes to their schedules so keep checking for possible openings
  • A Waiting List will be constructed for CHEM 320, CHEM 381 and CHEM 455L only during this period

    • We will send a follow-up email confirming your waiting list status.
    • You should still continue to check the availability of the course.
    • We will NOT add you to the class automatically; you still need to attend the class during the first week.
• Aug 11
  • Start of the construction of Waiting Lists for all CHEM courses
  • Send an email to chem@csuchico.edu indicating the course waiting list you want to be added to
  • We will send a follow-up email confirming your waiting list status.
  • You should still continue to check the availability of the course.
  • We will NOT add you to the class automatically; you still need to attend the class during the first week.
• Aug 25-30
  • The first week of class
  • Once the semester begins, we shut off the feature that allows students to add but not drop sections that are full; this allows us to enroll students from the waiting list.
  • If you are already enrolled in a course but would like to switch sections DO NOT DROP YOUR EXISTING COURSE as you will not be able to add the one you want. Go to the lab section you are enrolled in and let the instructor know you would like to switch. It all depends on getting a spot in the new section. If you drop yourself, you will be on the bottom of the waiting list.
  • If you are on the waiting list, you must attend both the lecture and/or lab section you wish to enroll in. Show up a few minutes early and let the instructor know you are on the waiting list or to please add your name if you did not yet contact the department office. If you do not attend class, you will be removed from the wait list and the next person on the list will be enrolled
  • The instructor will fill out the appropriate paperwork to add you to the lab and course
