Alumni Association News

Jimmy Reed

Greetings, fellow alumni!

Welcome to the 125th anniversary of the Chico State Alumni Association. This year marks a historic milestone for the Alumni Association that began with our founding in 1892, shortly after the first class of students graduated from Chico State. As a board, we are taking this opportunity to find new and exciting ways to celebrate our history, deepen our connections to the campus, and engage more alumni. We are eager to celebrate with you this year!

As we look forward to the year ahead, it is important to look back on the many successes we had in 2016. Supported by our transition to an all-inclusive, non-dues organization two years ago, we have accomplished a number of our goals. We increased alumni participation at events on campus, developed the Way to Go, Wildcat Award that highlights the achievements of our alumni, hosted two successful corporate engagement events, founded an alumni network in Portland, and have begun looking to expand elsewhere. On top of all of that, we were successful in organizing an alumni T-shirt sales campaign that will have a significant impact on our ability to provide more programing to our alumni. Thank you to those who participated and purchased T-shirts.

I would like to encourage our alumni to take the time to review and provide feedback on President Gayle E. Hutchinson’s 100-Day Listening Tour report, which can be found on the president’s website, www.csuchico.edu/prs. This report provides thoughts and opinions from faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends of the University on the strengths and challenges our campus faces. The Alumni Board was excited to meet with President Hutchinson to express our views and opinions and, as with any relationship, the conversation does not end there. Please email presidentlistening@csuchico.edu to provide your personal feedback.

Celebrating 125 years of alumni connections!

Go Wildcats!
