Welcome to Dr. Chris Coughlin, Child Development’s Newest Faculty Member.
Dr. Chris Coughlin is joining the faculty in the Child Development Program in the Fall, 2007. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Sciences from Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon.
Her Master’s thesis examined the influence of family on adolescent drug relapse. Her dissertation title was “A Longitudinal Study of the Relationship between Family Coalitions and Adolescent Antisocial Behavior.”
For the last five years, she has taught child development at Zayed University in the United Arab Emirates. Not surprisingly, she finds Chico’s hot summer temperatures to be quite bearable! She also has teaching experience at Massey University in New Zealand, Oregon State University, Eastern Oregon University, and Southwest Oregon Community College.
Her international experience and perspective is a wonderful addition to the Child Development Program. We are excited to have Dr. Coughlin join the faculty and look forward to her contributions!
