Welcome to Dr. Gail Walton, Child Development’s Newest Faculty Member

The Child Development Program is pleased to announce Dr. Gail Walton as an assistant professor beginning fall 2008.

Dr. Walton earned her PhD in 1992 from University of Texas at Dallas. Her dissertation was entitled Face Recognition in Newborns. She has taught many courses at several universities, supervised student research, presented conference presentations, and published articles. Walton has also trained family service workers in Child Protective Services Office in Arkansas.  

She has participated in some fascinating research about newborn preferences for their mother’s faces and types of pacifiers. 

During the 07-08 academic year, Walton taught several classes for the Psychology Department and Child Development Program. We are happy to welcome her!
