Murphy Commons FUN Program

About

In 2011, a collaborative endeavor between CHLD and Community Housing Improvement Project (CHIP), a local non-profit corporation, was launched with the goal of creating relationships and meaningful experiences between University students and families living in Murphy Commons, an 86-unit affordable housing property in Chico. This program, titled FUN (Family University Night), provides weekly programming at Murphy Commons designed by Chico State students and faculty to introduce children and adults to the range of learning and career options available in a University setting.  It allows Child Development majors who complete their internship in this setting to experience a family setting to broaden their scope of experience and to develop leadership skills.
