Dr. Cindy Ratekin Child Development Scholarship
This award is administered by the California State University, Chico Financial Aid and Scholarship Office and is an annual scholarship for a declared child development major at CSU, Chico, regardless of class standing. The intent is to support promising child development majors toward completing their educations and becoming skilled professionals in the field of early childhood education.
Cindy Ratekin, Ph.D., is currently a professor in the Child Development Program. From 1991 - 2002 she was the director of the Child Development Laboratory at CSU, Chico and also an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Professional Studies in Education.
This scholarship is supported by a 2002 University award to the CHLD program for being a "high quality learning environment" for child development students, and also by endowed funds provided by Dr. Cindy Ratekin and Dr. Gary Bess.

Florence V. Ritchie Scholarship
This award is administered by the California State University, Chico Financial Aid and Scholarship Office and is available to CSU, Chico students majoring in the areas of Child Development, Nutrition, and Food Science, or Art with an Interior Design Option. One or more scholarships are awarded to each major.
Students must be full-time (enrolled in 12 undergraduate units), have at least a 3.0 GPA, and be a junior or senior with at least one semester left until graduation. Financial need will be considered as will record of service to the department, major, or University.

Doris Woods Lynch Scholarship
This award is administered by the California State University, Chico Financial Aid and Scholarship Office. Applicants must be CSU, Chico full-time (enrolled in 12 undergraduate units) junior or senior students in good standing and who have demonstrated financial need. This scholarship rotates between child development and nutrition and food science majors (child development majors are selected in even years).

Luella Hopton Madsen Scholarship
This award is administered by the California State University, Chico Financial Aid and Scholarship Office and is available to CSU, Chico students majoring in the areas of child development, nutrition, and food science, or art with an interior design option. Students must be full-time (enrolled in 12 undergraduate units), have a demonstrated financial need, and graduated from high school in Butte County or an adjoining county.

This award is administered by the California State University, Chico Financial Aid and Scholarship Office. Applicants must be CSU, Chico full-time (enrolled in 12 undergraduate units) in good standing and who have demonstrated financial need. Rawlins Merit Award
Available to CSU, Chico students only. The student must be nominated by a CSU, Chico faculty member and must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student who will be enrolled for the full academic year of the award period.
Awards are based on the nominee's seriousness of intent to obtain an education and increase personal knowledge and ability to pursue a successful life in any chosen capacity. Evaluation is based on the following criteria:

California Student Aid Commission Child Development Grant
The Child Development Grant is administered by the California Student Aide Commission. The grant program is designed for students who are pursuing a career in early childhood education and working towards completing the requirements needed for a child development permit (Teacher, Site Supervisor, Master Teacher, or Program Director level. See http://www.ctc.ca.gov/credentials/how-to-apply.html for more permit information).
Students meeting grant criteria are eligible for up to $2,000 in grants each year. Grants may be renewed for one additional year.
Once selected, the recipient must maintain half-time enrollment (6 undergraduate units), make satisfactory progress towards a degree, have financial need, and intend to pursue the required course of study. Once the degree is completed, there is a full year commitment of service in a licensed children’s center (plus an additional year if the award is renewed).
