Is civic engagement something that only students undertake?

No.  On the University side of the partnership, faculty, administrators, staff, and trustees can and do participate, as partners, in the efforts of communities through California’s North State—the counties of Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta, Siskiyou, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, and Yuba—to solve problems, fill needs, and respond to challenges and opportunities. On the community side, government officials, the staff of nonprofit organizations, members of the business sector, residents, and others engage whenever they take action for these purposes.
