
Graduate Degree: Admission Requirements
The Communication Sciences and Disorders Program admits applicants to its M.A. program only in the fall semester.
Prerequisites for Admission to Conditionally Classified Status are:
- A grade point average of 3.0 or better in the last 30 units and a grade point average of at least 2.75 in the last 60 units.
- An acceptable baccalaureate from an accredited institution, or an equivalent approved by the Graduate School.
- Three letters of recommendation (submitted to the Graduate Coordinator) for any applicant whose baccalaureate was not completed under the CSU, Chico Communication Sciences and Disorders Program.
- Approval by the Program/Department and the Graduate School.
- Completion of the Graduate Records Exam.
Prerequisites for Admission to Classified status are (in addition to the requirements listed above):
- Completion of undergraduate prerequisites.
- Formation of the graduate advisory committee in consultation with the Graduate Coordinator. The committee will be formed during the first semester and will consist of a chair and two members. The chair must be a member of the CMSD faculty.
- Development of an approved program in consultation with the Graduate Advisory Committee.
Prerequisites for Advancement to Candidacy are (in addition to the requirements listed above):
- Classified standing and completion of 9 units of the approved program with at least a 3.0 grade point average.
