Peggy Armocido - #1 Individual Fundraiser for Relay for Life

My 7th year participating in Relay For Life was my most challenging and also my most rewarding experience. Record temperatures of over 110 degrees did not stop us from fighting for a cure. With 20+ medical calls for assist, 2 ambulances, a bazillion gallons of water consumed, we still managed to pull off a very successful event. I continued to wear many hats this year as I was the Accounting Chair (in a trailer with air until the generator gave out), and Team Captain to the Chico State Wildcats. My most important hat I wore was that of a Survivor, walking the survivor lap for the 7th time with my friend John Larsen. There were so many great things about relay this year, but I think one of my biggest accomplishments to date was winning 1st Place in individual fundraising by raising $6,007.17. My team won 2nd place Single Team and 1st Place in Per Capita Team (I might have had something to do with that). Our young team members strutted their stuff and we also were awarded best costume. It was challenging, and rewarding at the same time, and I got to work with the best committee, team, and community. Thank you all so much for helping me reach my goal of 1st place individual fundraiser, and for helping my team and the Chico Relay raise money getting us closer to a cure. Thank you and God Bless!
